Tick, tock, tick, tock. This is for you, last minute Christmas shoppers. Yes, I mean you. Despite our best efforts, many of us find ourselves scouring various department stores days and sometimes hours before December 25th. Hopefully, the list below will help alleviate your chaotic search for a last minute Christmas present.
I will be graduating from graduate school in December, Hooray! but it has just occurred to me, I haven't the faintest idea what to wear. Since it won't take place in the summer months, flirty little sundresses and open-toed sandals are a no-go.
The look I will be going for is simple, elegant, and studious - not to mention warm. This little numberfrom Asos would be darling, with a blazer on top, of course. I'm not sure it would qualify as studious though. To think of it, I don't think it would be a good idea to wear a blazer underneath my graduation gown. What about this? This dress from Banana Republic would be a lovely choice as well.
Fall is in full swing. While my wardrobe reflects the change in season, my nails haven't gotten the memo. I tend to gravitate towards warmer colors like Ice-Bergers & Fries and Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine!from O.P.I.
Do you change your nail color to reflect the seasons?
I'm also excited to see Viola Davis on "How to Get Away With Murder." There are so many strong, intelligent female characters on television this season, Bravo! and a huge bravo to the amazingly talented Shonda Rhimes.
Lately, every woman I've seen has had their fingers adorned, right to the tip, with delicate golden rings of all shapes and sizes. I bought some affordable pieces from Forever21, but I find that more than three rings on one hand is a bit too much for my liking. If you're really serious about this trend, you might want to invest in a few pricier selections from Swarovski.
I hardly ever wear eyeliner but for the past few months, I've been experimenting with various winged eyeliner looks for nights out on the town. Needless to say as an amateur, I've had more failures than successes. Thankfully, I've been binge-watching tons of YouTube makeup tutorials, so I can finally draw a defined line. I no longer look like a toddler doodled on my face.
Can you believe it's already September? I might be ruffling a few feathers when I say this but I'm not sad to see summer go, I'm thrilled actually. Good riddance to sweltering, sticky-and-icky nights and tossing and turning in your own sweat - and hello to crisper air and cooler Fall nights. Do I need to mention, once again, that Fall is my favorite season? These sweaters are perfect for your Fall attire. I like this one from Kate Spade and this shawl cardiganfrom American Apparel is perfect for a cozy night in on the couch.
Every woman should invest in a pencil skirt, it's one of those wardrobe staples that flatters every body type. There's something so classy and effortlessly chic about them, yes? They instantly whittle your waistline and give you the allure of an hourglass figure - which I love.
The young lady in this photograph is absolutely stunning, her hair, the dress, that flawless profile. Evidently, she seems to have stunned the woman behind her.
This photograph is genius, but you simply can't deny its ambiguity. I can't help but think that it has captured a glimpse of our America today. What emotions or words comes to mind upon seeing this photo? an elderly woman entranced by a new age beauty? intolerance? or something else? Weigh in.
I love an all-white ensemble. It's so crisp, clean and cool. Lately, white has been my shade of choice because it has been so muggy in NYC. I will be attending an all-white party in about to weeks and I simply can't wait to begin assembling my outfit. Take a look at this darling white skirt I purchased from Forever 21.
I ordered this darling little 14k gold monogram necklace from MyNameNecklace about a week ago, a replica of the necklace the fabulous Carrie Bradshaw often wore on "Sex and the City." I just couldn't help myself, the ads for the necklace has been showing up repeatedly on my site. Yes, they got me. Honestly, I expected a flimsy little trinket that I would stash away after a few weeks wear but I'm pleasantly surprised of how lovely and sparkly it looks. I will be wearing this everywhere this summer!
I've been considering a classic flap for quite some time but spending over four grand on a handbag is just not feasible right now. I probably could get a much better deal if I shop vintage but for this, a handbag I've been coveting for many years, I prefer to buy it new. But until then, a girl can dream. And dream, I shall.
